Arborio Rice

Cascina Oschiena is one of the oldest paddy fields in the Province of Vercelli. Today, maintaining the long tradition, we grow our rice "Friend of the Earth" certified, in an Ecological Biodiversity Protected Area - Natura 2000.

This Arborio rice is certified classic, guaranteeing the authenticity and purity of this ancient variety and distinguishing it from the modern varieties created for industrial agriculture. Arborio Classic is renowned for excellent cooking properties, ideal for the finest preparation of natural creamy risottos.

Cascina Oschiena passionately respects the Environment: in 2019 they converted over 60 acres from cultivated land to Nature Reserve. The aim is survival and reproduction of amphibians, bees, dragonflies, butterflies, and migratory birds, especially the beloved Black-tailed Godwit, since Cascina Oshiena is the only recorded nesting site in Italy.
